Pricing

2 min read

After setting your date, it’s time to set your price for the taxi.

But in eCab Taxi Booking manager there are multiple Pricing systems.

Fixed Hourly #

fixed hour price

Fixed Hourly is one of the pricing options, where you can set the Initial Price, Minimum Price, and Price/Hour.

Other fields like Return Minimum Price, Return Discount, and Waiting Time/Hour won’t work.

For example, here the initial price is 10, which will initially by default be added when you book this car.

The minimum price is the amount which is set at 50, so if the total price is below 50 then the minimum price will be charged as 50 and if above 50 it will be as the price.

And finally, the price per hour, which will work as you set the price per hour, like here it is 10 per hour. So if you book 3 hours it will be 30.

Once you have set the fixed hour, click Update, and let’s check the front end.

front end fixed hour

This is the front end of fixed hour, select your pickup date, pickup time, pickup location and drop off location and the hour for booking.

According to your selection, you can see the time to reach and the total distance and maps direction.

Now click search and see if the car your set is displaying or not.

taxi selection

As you can see, the car you set as a fixed price is displayed.

Now select the car and check if the price is working or not.

So according to pricing, we set the minimum price to 50, the hourly price to 10, and the initial price to 10. Here we have selected only 1 hour, so our total price is 20 but as our minimum price is 50 it is displaying 50.

Manual Price #

If you simply book the taxi for a fixed location manually, you need to select manual pricing.

Manual pricing

In Manual Pricing, your initial price, minimum price, Return minimum price, return discount, waiting time price/hour will work.

To use manual price, you need to add start location, end location, and price by clicking the Add New Price button.

Now after adding all the start and end location, click Update and check the pricing is working on the front end or not.

Select your pickup time, pickup date, pickup location, drop-off location, transfer type, and extra waiting hours.

Now click the Next button.

The price is calculated based on the initial price for both the arrival and return with 4 hours of waiting and a discount for the return.

Distance as Google Maps #

Distance, as Google Maps’ pricing system works according to distance based on Google Maps. To use it, you must ensure your Google API is added to the eCab plugin.

When you select Distance as the Google Maps pricing, the other fields remain the same, only you get a new Price/KM field that appears.

So here we have added Price/KM as 10, which means per kilometer it charges 10. Now click on Update and let’s see the changes.

We have added our Pickup date and time, pickup location, drop-off location, transfer type and waiting hours.

Based on my selection I got a total distance of 9.3 km with 30 minutes journey estimation which are all calculated by the Google maps API.

Now click Next and see if your car is displaying or not.

Well, your car is appearing and the calculation is accurate with the time and distance.

Duration/Time as Google Maps #

Similar to Distance as Google Maps pricing, Duration/Time as Google Maps also works in the same way the only change is instead of distance there is Time.

All the fields are same like Distance as Google Maps, but only distance field is changed into Price/Hour now and no minimum price is defined.

So here the Price/Hour is 10, which means it will charge 10 for each hour.

Click Update and find out the changes in the front end.

After adding the time, date and location with waiting hours we got the distance and journey time over the maps.

So our car is displaying for booking with the accurate price calculation based on duration as Google maps.
